Some new questions...
I hope you have the confusing parts figured out by now. Hopefully the map assignment will help. Remember, the author is switching narrators every chapter-one chapter is Jake and the next is E.D. That might help as you read! - Would you like to attend a school like Wit’s End? Why or why not?
- Have you ever felt like you didn’t belong?

I would love to attend a school like Wit's End. You wouldn't have any rules, you could move on in your strong points, and you could be yourself without getting any grief. When I first came to Villa, I felt like " How am i ever going to fit in". Sometimes I still feel like that, though.
I would love to go to a school like Wit's End. I could sleep real late. I could learn what ever I want. I would only have to be on time for dinner and that would be no problem.
When I started preschool I felt very alone because I had no friends. But that didn't last long. I make friends quickly.
I saw The Sound of Music last night. The music was very boring and I almost fell asleep mid way. The scene with the puppets and the scene with the Nazis kept me awake.
REL-Thanks for taking one for the team! It will make comprehension of the book and presentations at the end much easier if you have all seen the movie.
I would also like to attend the school to be free and make rock music, make art , play sports.FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!When I was in Belgium I felt hopeless because I thought I would not fit in or speak the language but they spoke english.
I would love to attend wit's end because you can do mostly whatever you wan't to do. The thing I would love would be that you don't have to wear a uniform and you can wear whatevr you want to. I've really never felt left out at school or sports because I know the people from somewhere. The only time I feel left out is in my neighborhood a little bit. That doesn't happen a lot now but sometimes the people leave me out .
Sorry, I couldn't get the movie but I'm trying to get it. I'll try to watch it by the end of the week.
Rel,did something good happen in the Nazis part and the puppet part to keep you awake.
If you ask me, I think it would be a great idea to have more schools like Wit's End. So many parents are sueing teachers for just yelling at their kids. I think it would be better for everyone.
I'm with you RWLF. I would like to do that stuff too at wit's end. I think a school like wit's end would be the best in the whole wide world. I hope you guys are liking the book. I am a lot and it isn't that confusing anymore.
You know, when I first got to Villa, I thought that nobody wanted to be my friend. It was like I was on Mars. Nobody knew me and I was really different, like the way I said things like orange, caramel, pecan, water, and other things. I still say them differently and I'm still really different, but now almost everybody excepts that I'm different.
Guys mow i got a clearer image of the map of the whole place. You guys should also read over the parts weve read to get a better image.
Yeah RWLF, I thought your map was awesome. You have some spelling mistakes in your letters. Make sure you check it. I LIKE THE BOOK, DO YOU GUYS? Do you guys think Jake will mess up in the play? See ya, type later.
Love your blog guys!
I just wanted to add my thoughts - I love Surviving the Applewhites, mostly because I think everyone can relate to being new at some point in their lives. I know I felt that way when I first came to Villa. The hard part about being new is putting your self out there to make new friends. I think that is Jake's problem. He shuts him self off from everyone - so no one has the chance to get to know him.
Have you ever met someone like that?
Peace, Love, and Blogging,
Ms. Y
I like when he like when he sings the songs ot THE SOUND OF MUSIC.He gets hired by the thing play.
the hills arealive with the sound of music, aaahhhhhhhh. For the songs they have sound for a thosand years. Part of the first song.
RWLF: I am not quite sure what you meant by your second to last post. What's the "thing play"? Please clarify!
Yes i would like to go to their school because it sounds really fun. It just sounds so exciting because VMA has a lot of rules but Wit's End school does not have any rules.
No i never felt like i did not belong.
I like some of the songs on the Sound Of Music too.
Hey guys, don't you think it would be AWESOME if we could have a day at Villa where it would be just like Wit's End? I mean, think about it, we could be free to do whatever we wanted to do!!!!!!! That would be so cool!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You know, I always feel left out in my neighborhood. All of the kids use my basketball hoop and my soccer net, and yet they never ask me to play. When I do get to play with them, I wind up getting hurt emotionally or physically. I just want to get out of this neighborhood!!!!!
Hey guys, I think ajn's got a point. Villa has way too many rules. I mean, they have rules for movies, fieldtrips, out-of-uniform days, in uniform days, the way your hair looks, and more. I'm surprised they don't have rules about the way you smile!! I think Wit's End would be like a vacation, and Villa puts you behind bars!!!!!!! I wish we could go to Wit's End!!!!!!!!!!!!
You know, at Sacred Heart, I was best friends with at least 6 boys, and at least 5 girls. It's different here. At Villa I only have 5 best friends. I kind of feel left out here sometimes. It's like I'm from Neptune or something.
Do you guys ever feel like you have no idea what's going on around you, or you are totally lost? Sometimes I feel that way. When you feel that way, do you listen to music to calm you down, because that's what I do. If not, Then what helps you to calm down?
One time there was a girl in preschool who was new there and everybody else already new somebody there. She was always scared of the other kids because they kept making fun of her name! Can you guess who that was? If you guessed me, then you're right! This only happened for a couple of months, but it seemed like years. They called me names like "Motorhead" or other mean things. After a while, a found a couple of friends and it turned out okay.
Hey, you guys did a pretty good job on your maps!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
GAN-Nah, I wouldn't be mad if you guys didn't like it. Maybe sad, since it's one of my favorites!! Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.
Speaking of opinions, I think your statement about our school is a bit harsh. I won't defend all of the rules, but I think most of them are for your safety. I think saying you're behind bars is a bit strong. Compared to some schools I think ours is much less strict. What does everyone else think?
Okay mrs. b, I guess you're right. I was being a little harsh, and I have to admit, VMA is WAY better than Saint Henry's.
